Back To Painting

That's a desk with a hutch and chair.  It has been squished into the corner of my garage for months and today I got back to painting!

Isn't it amazing?

The paint color is duck egg blue and white.  The knobs are antique bronze.  I love the color combination and all the heavy distressing.

Look at that finish...smooth.

Love the dental molding and the details on the legs.

The white just makes it pop.

Chairs are not my favorite thing to paint...but this one was fun.
The heavy distressing on it looks so good.

I'm just giddy over these pieces!

Imagine

Before

After

This little piece was found by Beth at Not Too Shabby in the Gateway Mall.
She said I could do whatever I wanted with it. I knew I wanted a word on the door and I liked the "quilting" I had done on an earlier project, so I pulled my ideas together and created this fun cabinet.

I had the paper from when I used to scrapbook the hard way...
now its all digital for me, so the paper needed to go..

Vinyl letters were used to create the "Imagine" at the bottom of the door.

Its a fun little piece and it will be available for purchase at
Not Too Shabby on Thursday.  Thanks for visiting.

Mints and Roses

Before...Look at those knobs.  Yikes.

After

This piece was painted a soft green, distressed and waxed with dark and clear wax. The backs of the shelves are "quilted" with rose scrapbook paper and sealed with Modge Podge.

I used 2" squares to create the patchwork.

These knobs are MUCH better.

This piece will be available for purchase at Not Too Shabby in the Gateway Mall on Thursday.  Stop in and take a peak...it's worth the stop.

40" tall, 13.5" deep and 28" wide.
Perfect for a little girls room.

Dashing in Duck Egg Blue

After a wonderful weekend with friends and family,
I retreated to the garage and started painting this piece for
Beth at Not Too Shabby in the Gateway Mall.

Of course, I forgot the "before" picture...
but it was cream with speckles and baby blue accents.  Ugh.

Now it has a fresh coat of Duck Egg Blue ASCP,
some distressing and wax to seal it.

The color appears washed out in these photos.

I painted the hardware a dark antique bronze.
The handles and knobs look amazing.

My garage...not so amazing.

This piece would be a beautiful dresser or a buffet.

Pictured with the mirror.

I would say that this picture represents the true color better than the ones above...the fluorescent lights and the iphone work perfectly together:)

Nice reflection...hockey gear airing out.

Anyway, this piece will be at Not Too Shabby on Thursday.
Hopefully between now and then I can clear the clutter in my garage.

Thanks for visiting.

A Beautiful Hutch

Heather and I painted this hutch "on location" at Not Too Shabby in the Gateway Mall.  Beth, the owner, had asked us to give this hutch a makeover and we decided to do it right at the store.

It is a nice, study piece with great lines and details.  We spent the last two evenings painting and visiting...now it is done and it is beautiful.

A before picture would have been nice, but we jumped in and got started right away...it was very dark and dated.

Love the crackle that came through.

The beadboard gives in a "cottage" feel.

Love it!  Hope you do too...
it is for sale at Not Too Shabby in the Gateway Mall, Bismarck, ND.
This store is FULL of treasures...stop in and take a look.

Tons of Character

This hutch is gorgeous!  It was a big undertaking...
but the results are amazing.

 Beth from Not Too Shabby
found this amazing hutch and asked us to paint it...
the inside was painted a beautiful turquoise color and the exterior in a soft cream.  The entire hutch was heavily distressed and antiqued.

The base has amazing details and the pulls are perfect...
there is even a little turquoise on the fronts of the doors.

This hutch is front and center at the entrance of
Not Too Shabby in the Gateway Mall.

Open Thursday thru MONDAY!

Nice Lines

Isn't she pretty?

I am constantly amazed at what a little paint and hard work can produce.

Beth from Not Too Shabby in the Gateway Mall
asked us to paint this hutch (pictured below)
and we knew it had great potential.

It is available for purchase...visit Beth and the ladies Thursday thru Sunday.

Thanks for stopping by and we have a garage full of projects...a buffet, side tables, a coffee table, magazine rack, bread box...I love this stuff!
