Before
Of course, I was dying to start painting on this buffet and forgot to take the before pictures...so here it is right before I started painting. This piece was musty, dusty and full of spider webs... so a good washing was needed. Plus a little Gorilla Glue to repair the vaneer and we were set.
Almost done...heavy distressing was needed to achieve the look I was after. I needed a little inspiration for that center piece...but couldn't find any. So, Hobby Lobby to the rescue! I found a baroque stencil to add a special touch to the center.
For me? Not sure.
It doesn't fit quite right where I had envisioned it and in my mind I have rearranged my entire house to find the perfect spot for it. Hmmm...I think this would be a perfect "beverage" station for parties...but it kind of blocks the hallway. Is that bad?
I love this piece and as I take a second look...I think it might stay.
