that's how much i love it.  

I distressed is lightly and added an antique wax.  

Perfect.

Beautiful in Blue

This magazine side table is just perfect if your looking for a small accent piece in your room.  Put a small lamp on top, place it next to a chair & enjoy a cup of coffee while reading your favorite magazine!  I could even see this piece in a bathroom with folded towels on the shelf & a basket of toiletries on the top.  Last suggestion...  a bedroom as a nightstand/magazine accent table!

 

I painted this piece with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, Ambusson Blue.  The top & the drawer front were coated with 3 coats of Antique, dark wax.  The painted portion was also coated with the Antique, dark wax to create a more antique, aged piece of furniture.

Rummage Sale Weekend 2012

A few weeks ago Bismarck was crazy.  

Crazy with rummage sales.  

There were signs, cars ands sales on almost every street.  

Unfortunately, neither Heather or I were able to get to that many...but we did have some luck.  We will be painting these pieces soon, so let us know if you are interested in anything and we can custom paint it for you.  

Nice dresser.  Functions perfectly.  

I was noticing the checkerboard pattern on the drawers.  

Thinking of a fade of pinks, blues or turquoise with a white body.

Loved this little piece.  

This could be used as a bench or coffee table.  

There is even storage inside.  

This will look 150% better with a coat of paint.

Fade from black to gray?  White body?  

This is a nice desk with a hutch and chair.  I'm thinking white for the main body and maybe a color on the drawers and inside of hutch.  

The small table on top is for me:)  

I bought the base of this table for my Uncle Roger.  He is going to use it for the bottom of an old game table he refinished.  

This door was $5.  It is old and perfect.  

I put it in the guest room and it is just what that empty wall needed.

Library Tables

I bought these great library tables with intentions of "fitting" them 

into my home.  Well, when you paint furniture for fun...you end 

up with lots of great stuff and need to pass on some it.  

I can see these in a foyer or in your guest room as a small writing desk.  Or, in a bedroom as night tables...I think they would look fantastic.  Big and bold.

A New Room for Casey

 It's time for Casey to have a real room...

not just legos and clothes. A room with a bed.

After the Missouri River flood in 2011, I did some re-organizing.  We sold his twin bed and moved the Legos into his room.  That is where it ended. 

So we have revamped his room and gave it a BED...

and some different furniture and decor. 

Old dresser and the drapes I took out of Thomas' room.  

Both will be for sale on Bisman.

We painted it Old White and Barcelona Orange.  Its distressed a little and waxed, of course.  The handles were painted an antique bronze.

We moved the Lego table into the nook in front of his window and all of the bins of sorted lego pieces went into this great cabinet that we have had for years. 

New Headboard, bedding and pillows.  

We made the headboard from pieces wood, painted them Old White, distressed and added some dark wax to age it.  Click here to see the tutorial.  

I wasn't sure if I loved it or not when it was sitting in my garage...but once it was in the room I knew it was perfect.  

The other day I had 10 minutes to pop into TJ Maxx and see if they had 

any new bedding that would coordinate with his room.  I had ordered 

two sets online, but they were not quite right.  So, I dashed in and 

I found the PERFECT quilt, shams and coordinating pillows!  I didn't have 

a cart so my arms were filled and the checkout line was long...and I was 

running late. Oh well, I made it and I had exactly what we were looking for.  

Do you ever notice that when you don't grab a cart at Target, 

the grocery store or TJ Maxx that you find tons of stuff?  

The Headboard.  

We had the nightstand and decided that it worked perfectly 

with his new dresser and headboard.  

Casey spent a little time last night cleaning out his "junk" drawer and placed his slippers that Grandma Kathy brought back from China beside his bed. When he came down for breakfast this morning, he had them on. Too cute.  

Beside the Lego table, we added a piece of metal for pictures, 

awards and artwork.  The clipboards make changing pictures a breeze and the metal bins will be perfect for Lego magazines.  

Casey's room turned out great and he loves it.  He and Thomas have been sleeping together forever and they both slept in their own rooms last night.  They looked like Kings tucked into the middle of their big beds.

Blah to.... Beautiful

not bad, just a little blah

white may do the trick to spice these up...

the pulls were painted a fresh coat of oil-rubbed bronze,

now they really stand out against the white!

Beth had these delivered last week & right away I knew they would look great!  They were nice & solid & the perfect candidate for a re-do.  Annie Sloan's Pure White paint with oil-rubbed bronze pulls was exactly what this set needed.  It distressed so nice & is absolutely shabby chic!
