Rustic Mirror

Before

After

This mirror was done with a very similar finish to yesterday's side table.  The two pieces would look great together (hint, hint)!

Rustic Side Table

Before

After

I really love the way the finish turned out on this piece!  It was painted cream, then clear waxed with a dark wax on top of that!

It is so rustic looking & could be used in so many different rooms.

If you like this, be sure to look @ tomorrow's post ~ I'll give you a hint... matching mirror (ok...not really a hint, I gave it away)!

Shabby Shelf

Before

After

Funny story about this shelf...  as you can see in the before picture, I seriously thought it was hung horizontally.  Then, as I started painting it, I realized something didn't make sense & then put it together that this was indeed supposed to be hung vertically ~ I am admitting my mistakes!

Anyway, turned out very cute & very shabby chic!

Sophisticated Side Table

Before

After

I love the way this side table turned out!  A lot of work was put into sanding the top down (as you can see in the before, it was in pretty bad shape)!  I was tempted to take the lazy way out & just paint the whole piece Old White, but I'm so glad that the sanding paid off!

I stained the top walnut and painted the legs, distressed, and then waxed them.  So much detail on this table!

I also enlisted the help of my son to sand the top ~ he lasted about 5 minutes....better than nothing!

Flooding

Some of you may have noticed that there hasn't been as many posts on our site lately.  The community we live in~ Bismarck, ND ~is currently undergoing massive flooding by the nearby Missouri River.  It is affecting thousands directly, and the whole community indirectly.  It has been a sad time for everyone dealing with the unknown, but also a time where you see neighbors, friends, and strangers banding together to help save as many people's homes as possible!

My furniture counterpart & wonderful friend, Renae, is personally affected with the flood waters making their way to her family's home.  Between Renae & I, we have so many friends/family being affected, also.  Many people have been evacuated from their homes for an amount of time that is "yet to be seen".  This massive flooding is expected to last the entire summer.

Please keep our community in your thoughts & prayers!!

Happy Summer to all of you & to our friends/family in Bismarck!

1960's Retro Dresser

This is my littlest daughter's new, "old", dresser.  Built solid in 1960, this piece came with the mirror, and matching head/foot boards.  I also painted this one in high gloss white paint.

She's in a crib now, but eventually I'll finish the head/foot boards & this little room should come together very nicely!

1950's Retro Dresser Redo

I wish I would've taken before pictures!  Anyway, this is a dresser I bought from a rummage sale for my older daughter's bedroom.

It came with a mirror, but I need to rearrange her bedroom first before I attach it.  It also came with a matching head/foot board ~ seriously cute!  The dresser was built in the 1950's & was built well.  I painted it with a high gloss white & sprayed the once brass pulls, a satin nickel!

I love the results....my littlest one got a dresser set from the same rummage sale which was built in 1960.  I will be taking pictures in the next few days so you can see that fun piece, also!

Redo for my fantastic daughter!

Quaint Lil Desk

Before

After
This great little desk was given to us by a good friend to re-do for her daughter.  Brynn had really liked the black desk with the fun flowers painted on it that we had done awhile ago.  We tried to give this one the same flair for this super fun girl!  Hope you like it, Brynn!
